Plateaus and Alternatives

Who is it aimed at?
This programme is designed for people who have reached the highest level they will achieve and/or wish to consider alternatives to their current career path.

Why do I need it?
This programme lets you reflect on the career path you have been following and why it is difficult not to pursue it anymore or change direction. It helps those in this position to understand what ties them to their previous commitment, why it is difficult to let go and why a new direction can be viewed with suspicion, fear and excitement.

What will I get out of it?
You will:

  • Understand the attraction of remaining on the same career path
  • Discover that  much of  your self value comes from the position you hold
  • Learn that satisfying  others perceptions of what you should be doing leads to stress
  • Understand how to see yourself outside the context of your organisation/function and the other roles you play
  • Learn how to think about your own values and experiences, how they were formed and how they influence  your future thinking and decision making
  • Learn to manage your work life balance to achieve a more satisfying lifestyle

What is it about?

  • This programme allows reflection on why we cling to  status and position
  • What drives you or is important to you as an individual
  • How other people continue to influence your own view of yourself and your career
  • Survival toolkit: being challenged, stressed and managing your own and others reactions.

Participants will be challenged through role play and delegates will develop an action plan to follow the alternative direction they wish to tak

Who is it for?

  • Those who have achieved the highest level they can and need to  think of alternatives to promotion to remain satisfied with their career
  • Those who feel they wish to change career path or have this thrust upon them by organisational change and wish to examine their own motivations.
